Saw a PMD rider actively drinking beer while delivering food. Bragged he’s “untouchable”

Saw this sibei keksim post on IG stories today… man really think he play GTA in real life is it?

Sigh, really need to rant about this because the sheer level of audacity and stupidity I witnessed today blew my mind.

I was waiting for my food at a hawker centre in Tampines when this delivery rider on an e-scooter pulled up. Standard setup—big green food delivery bag, high-vis jacket, helmet hanging on his handlebars. But what caught my eye was the open 500ml can of Tiger beer sitting right in his PMD’s cup holder.

Before picking up the customer’s food, he literally cracked open another can, took a long swig, and started talking loudly on speakerphone to his friend. In full view of everyone, he was bragging about how he’s been doing this for months. His exact words (translated from Hokkien/Singlish):

“Aiya, LTA and TP non-existent one lah! You think they got time to catch us at night ah? Drink a bit only, still can steer what. No license to revoke anyway, so what can they even do? Zero offence!”

I was genuinely stunned. Bro, you are literally operating a motorized vehicle on public paths, weaving through pedestrians, and handling people’s dinner while half-cut.

For those who think like this clown: Drink-riding on a PMD or PAB is a serious offence in Singapore. Under the Active Mobility Act, operating a personal mobility device on a public path while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly illegal. If caught, you can get fined up to $2,000, jailed for up to 3 months for a first offence, or both. Second-time offenders are looking at up to $5,000 in fines and 6 months in jail.

It’s not just a “slap on the wrist” fine—it’s actual jail time. You don’t need a driving license for LTA and SPF to drag your ass to court.

I took down his PMD registration plate number and reported it via the OneService app right after he zipped off (nearly clipping an uncle with a walking stick, mind you).

Honestly, delivery riders already face enough scrutiny and regulations because of bad apples like this guy. If you want to drink, go home or go to a coffee shop after your shift like a normal person. Don’t go around endangering pedestrians and ruining the reputation of honest riders who are just trying to make a living.

Anyone else encountering these “untouchable” drinkers on paths lately, or is enforcement really just slacking off in certain areas?
