Eh bro, listen to this classic story.
Got one guy tell his whole gang two years ago, “Eh, I quitted smoking liao! Every month save $300 plus, in two years time I can buy Ferrari!” Very big talk, right? Entire coffee shop heard him. Every time people smoke, he will stand there, hands in pocket, look at them with very proud expression and say, “You all still burning money ah? Look at me, saving my Ferrari downpayment.”
Fast forward two years later. Everyone expecting him to pull up in a bright red, vroom-vroom Italian supercar.
Guess what?
Still driving the same beat-up 2012 Toyota Vios, sound like lawnmower when starting engine, aircon hot like sauna.
So yesterday at the hawker centre, his friend cannot take it liao, ask him directly: “Eh bro! Two years ago you say quit smoking can buy Ferrari right? Quitted two years already, where is your Ferrari?”
The guy look left, look right, suck on his ice kopi-O, then reply with super deep face: “Bro… you smoke for 10 years, right?”
Friend say: “Yeah, so?”
He ask again: “Where is YOUR Ferrari?”
Friend freeze. Then say: “I don’t have, because I smoke what!”
Then the former smoker throw the killer line: “Exactly lor! You didn’t quit, you don’t have Ferrari. I quit, I also don’t have Ferrari. So at least I save my lungs, and my Toyota still can run. Win-win what!”
All his friends instantly speechless, don’t know whether to clap hand or throw chwee kueh at his face.
Lesson learned: Quitting smoking might not give you a Ferrari, but at least your breath won’t smell like charcoal ash, your teeth stay white, and your wallet got extra money to buy extra chicken drumstick every day. Plus now GST 9%, every dollar saved is a victory!
Anyone here also quitted smoking and ended up driving a Honda instead of Bugatti? Tag that friend who always talk big but end up taking MRT anyway! 😂 👇
