Senior Manager in my department pretends to be a “lonely single guy looking for love” at work, but he’s actually married with 3 kids in Woodlands and preyed on 4 interns already.
Throwaway for obvious reasons. I work in a mid-sized tech/agency firm in Bugis.
We have this Senior Manager, let’s call him “Dave” ( late 30s M). Dave presents himself as the classic “cool, relatable, slightly tragic single guy”. He dresses well, drives an Audi, hits the gym, and always complains at lunch that “Aiya, modern SG girls so demanding, I still haven’t found the right one to settle down with.”
Because he’s senior and charismatic, a lot of young female contract staff and university interns look up to him.
Over the past 2 years, I noticed a pattern: Dave ALWAYS volunteers to mentor the female interns. Every internship cycle (Jan and July), he will pick the prettiest girl, take her out for “1-on-1 career guidance dinners”, stay late in office with her, and drive her home.
Within 2 months, the intern will start wearing expensive luxury accessories, and everyone secretly knows they are sleeping together. Once the internship ends 6 months later, Dave softly breaks it off, claims “workplace ethics”, and moves on to the NEXT intake intern.
We all thought he was just a red-flag playboy/cradle-robber, until last week.
My team was doing a corporate CSR event delivering food packs to low-income families in Woodlands. While walking through a block of 5-room flats, I saw Dave in a faded t-shirt and bermudas, pushing a stroller with a toddler, while TWO primary school kids were running behind him calling him “PAPAI! PAPAI!”. Next to him was a tired-looking woman carrying grocery bags.
I ducked behind a pillar. I was FREAKING SHOCKED.
I did some OSINT detective work on Facebook/IG that night using his wife’s tagged photos (found via a relative’s public post).
- He has been legally married since 2016.
- He has THREE children (aged 2, 6, and 8).
- His wife works part-time and posts photos of them celebrating anniversary, but she tags a private IG account he created specifically for his family life.
- His main public LinkedIn and corporate IG has ZERO mention of his marriage or kids.
He literally lives a DOUBLE LIFE. 9am to 6pm in Bugis: Single Bachelor dating 21-year-old poly/uni interns. 7pm in Woodlands: Father of three.
The worst part? Our current batch’s intern (20F) is currently madly in love with him. She genuinely believes he is going to BTO with her after she graduates. She shows us texts of him saying: “I’ve been waiting for someone like you my whole life.” It makes me feel sick to my stomach.
I want to destroy this guy, but I don’t know the best way to handle this without hurting the innocent intern or blowing up my own career:
- Should I drop an anonymous email to HR? (Our HR is pretty useless and might cover up because Dave brings in big client revenue).
- Should I anonymously DM the intern his wife’s FB profile?
- Should I tell his wife directly?
Is this common in corporate SG? The level of deception is sociopathic.
