A Malaysian woman reportedly went to a primary school to confront a pupil whom she accused of repeatedly mistreating her child, with footage of the confrontation later circulating online.
According to reports by Sin Chew Daily and China Press, a video lasting around two and a half minutes showed the woman confronting the pupil on school premises.
The woman was seen holding the boy’s wrist and collar before bringing him to the ground. She reportedly demanded to know why he had allegedly targeted her child.
The pupil could reportedly be heard responding that the woman’s child had called him “babi” first, suggesting that there had been an argument between the two children before the incident.
Woman repeatedly tells pupil not to use force
During the confrontation, the woman repeatedly told the pupil that using physical force was wrong.
However, the situation attracted attention from other pupils, several of whom appeared to be recording the confrontation. The woman reportedly noticed that she was being filmed and asked the students to delete the recordings.
The incident attracted further attention after another video allegedly showing the earlier dispute was also circulated online.
According to Sin Chew Daily, footage appeared to show a pupil believed to be the same boy being confronted by the woman striking another student with a badminton racket.
The emergence of both videos has led to online discussion over how parents should respond when their children are involved in disputes at school.
Police reports filed by both sides
Police are investigating the incident after reports were reportedly lodged by both parties.
Authorities are expected to establish what happened between the two pupils before the woman’s arrival at the school, as well as what took place during the subsequent confrontation.
The circumstances surrounding the children’s dispute remain unclear, and it has not been established from the available reports whether the badminton racket incident was connected to an ongoing disagreement between the pupils.
The case also highlights the challenges faced by schools and parents when handling disputes involving children, particularly when physical confrontation is alleged and recordings are shared across social media.
As the investigation continues, authorities will need to determine the circumstances surrounding both the incident involving the children and the woman’s decision to confront the pupil at school.:::
