A 29-year-old man has been arrested following a traffic accident along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), with police investigating an allegation that he was driving while under the influence of drugs.
The incident happened on 25 August and involved two cars travelling along the BKE towards the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). The case came to wider attention after videos showing the aftermath of the accident were posted on TikTok.
Police said they were alerted to the collision at around 5.35pm. The 29-year-old driver was subsequently arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs, while investigations remain ongoing.

A video uploaded online appeared to show two men struggling at the roadside along the BKE. One man could be seen holding onto the other, who appeared to be trying to move away.
The footage showed one of the men grabbing a bridge railing before appearing to throw an object over the side. According to the TikTok user’s account, the incident happened after the man allegedly collided with a Mercedes on the expressway.
The Mercedes driver reportedly provided dashcam footage to the TikTok user. He claimed that when he approached the other driver following the collision, the man appeared to be behaving unusually and had difficulty speaking clearly.
The Mercedes driver also reportedly believed that the other motorist was attempting to leave the scene after learning that the police had been contacted. He then allegedly restrained the man until assistance arrived.
Mazda reportedly seen swerving between lanes
A separate video posted by the same TikTok account showed a black Mazda travelling along the BKE.
The vehicle appeared to move between lanes, with several motorists adjusting their positions as it travelled close to other vehicles. The footage showed the Mazda eventually moving towards the left-most lane before exiting towards Turf Club Avenue.
The TikTok user alleged that the Mazda was driven by the same man involved in the earlier confrontation.
The Mercedes driver also claimed that the object thrown from the bridge was a Kpod, although this detail has not been independently verified.
Police arrest 29-year-old driver
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that it was alerted to a road traffic accident along the BKE towards the PIE.
One person was assessed for minor injuries at the scene but reportedly declined conveyance to hospital.
Separately, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that officers were alerted to an accident involving two cars at approximately 5.35pm.
