Man, 62, dies after falling from Toa Payoh flat during CNB anti-drug operation

A 62-year-old man died after falling from a residential unit at Block 205 Toa Payoh North on Aug. 31, 2026, while officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) were carrying out an anti-drug operation at the block.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at around 2.10pm that afternoon.

According to CNB, its officers had gone to a residential unit at about 2pm as part of an operation. However, they had not yet gained entry to the unit when the man was seen climbing out through a window.

Man fell from eighth-floor bedroom window

The man subsequently fell from the flat, according to CNB.

Stomp reported that a witness saw the man climbing out of a bedroom window on the eighth floor before falling to the ground.

The witness also claimed that the man had “jumped”, although the circumstances surrounding the fall have not been independently established.

CNB said its officers had not entered the unit at the time of the incident.

The man was later found at the foot of the block and was pronounced dead.

Drug-related items recovered from unit

Following the incident, drug-related paraphernalia were recovered from the residential unit, CNB said.

The bureau has not publicly disclosed further details about the items recovered or whether any other person was involved in the operation.

The police said that, based on preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Authorities have not provided further information on what led to the man’s fall or the circumstances inside the flat before the incident.

The case remains under investigation as the relevant authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
