A 20-year-old full-time National Serviceman with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) died on Sunday (Sept. 6) after he was found unconscious at the training yard of Marina Bay Fire Station.
The serviceman was identified as Lance Corporal (LCP) Muhammad Nur Ilham Mohammed Iswadi, who was on duty when he was found at around 8.10am.
SCDF personnel immediately administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an attempt to revive him. He was subsequently conveyed to Singapore General Hospital for further medical attention.
Serviceman Passed Away In Hospital
Despite the efforts to resuscitate him, LCP Nur Ilham was pronounced dead at Singapore General Hospital.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received a call for assistance at about 8.15am at 70 Marina View, where Marina Bay Fire Station is located.
Based on preliminary investigations, police said there were no indications of foul play in connection with the incident. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death remain ongoing.
LCP Nur Ilham enlisted with the SCDF on Feb. 10, 2026. He subsequently completed his firefighter course on Aug. 7 before being posted to Marina Bay Fire Station on Aug. 18.
SCDF Extends Condolences To Family
The SCDF expressed sadness over the death of LCP Nur Ilham and conveyed its condolences to his family during the difficult period.
The force also said it is providing support to the deceased serviceman’s family following the incident.
The death comes less than seven months after LCP Nur Ilham enlisted with the SCDF and shortly after he completed his firefighter training and began his posting at Marina Bay Fire Station.
Police investigations are still ongoing. Further details surrounding the circumstances of his death have not been released at this time.
The incident was reported to have occurred at the fire station’s training yard while LCP Nur Ilham was on duty.
