The fire involved an e-scooter that was charging.
I spoke to the family. One family member suffered minor burn injuries when putting out the fire and is receiving treatment.
Personal Mobility Devices (PMD) are common these days. Please take care and follow these safety tips:
– Avoid overcharging battery – best not to charge overnight
– When charging batteries, place them on hard flat surfaces to allow optimal dissipation of heat
– Do not place the charging battery near combustible materials
