VICE ACTIVITIES ‘SWEEP’ BY POLICE AT TIONG BAHRU & BEACH RD

3123123145656Recently the police have been working on illegal activities in Singapore. As many of you might have noticed in the media the Police have continuously made efforts against Vice activities.

Police Media Report:

The Central Police Division conducted an enforcement operation against vice activities on 4 December 2018 along Beach Road and Tiong Bahru Road.

During the operation, six women aged between 23 and 37 were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter. Preliminary investigations revealed that the women, who resided in Singapore on Employment Passes and Short Term Visit Passes, advertised their sexual services online and operated from hotels and rented apartments.

Investigations are ongoing.

Landlords and hotel owners are advised to ensure that tenants do not carry out vice activities in their premises. Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of $10,000 and/or up to five years’ imprisonment. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $10,000.

The Police will spare no effort to clamp down and take tough enforcement action against anyone involved in vice activities. Those found engaging in such activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
