THIEVING COUPLE CAUGHT FOR STEALING GOLD BAR

In the age of CCTV, still have people want to fight against the power of technology. It did not take the police more than 24 hours to identify and arrest the suspects.

The Police have arrested a man and a woman, aged 36 and 39, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of a gold bar.

On 7 December 2018 at about 12.03 am, the Police were alerted that a gold bar had been stolen from a shop at 200 Victoria Street. 

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Central Police Division established the identities of the suspects and arrested them on 8 December 2018. The stolen gold bar was recovered and seized as a case exhibit.

The couple will be charged in court on 8 December 2018 with theft in dwelling with common intention punishable under Section 380 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they may be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
