It is surprising that in this day and age, housebreaking cases still happen in Singapore. The police has provided a few advise to deter against housebreaking.
Then again, cameras are everywhere guess the suspect still lives in the 60s.

The Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking.
On 4 January 2019 at about 12.10pm, the Police received a report that a residential unit located along Jalan Loyang Besar had been broken into.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 10 January 2019.
The suspect will be charged in the court on 12 January 2019 with housebreaking under Section 454 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
The Police would like to advise the public to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
 – Secure all doors, windows and other openings with good quality grills and close-shackled padlocks when leaving your premises unattended, even for a short while;
–Â Â Refrain from keeping large sums of cash and valuables at home; and
– Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor lights and/or close circuit surveillance cameras to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and in good working condition.
