According to a media release by the Police, a total of 24 men between the ages of 22 and 63 were arrested at Geylang Road.
A joint operation was conducted by the Police, CNB and ICA on the 8 December 2019. Out of the 24 men that were arrested 23 were arrested for gambling and a 26-year-old was arrested under the Immigration act.
S$3,100 of cash and gambling equipment was seized.
Four men charged today
Quoted from the Police: “Four men, aged between 27 and 52, will be charged in court on 10 December 2019 under the Common Gaming Houses Act. Investigations against the remaining men are ongoing.”
“The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.”.
Last year 66 individuals were arrested for similar activities, S$428,720 was seized
