WOMEN’S STOLEN CREDIT CARD LEAD TO ILLEGAL S$1,600 SHOPPING SPREE

A 23-year-old man was charged in court after he allegedly used a woman’s missing credit card to for a shopping spree.

The incident started on the 10th Jan 2020, the woman reported that her belongings were stolen, It is believed that among the stolen items there were at least 3 credit cards. From the day it went missing a 23-year-old man used her credit card for 5 days before he was caught.

Investigations from the police revealed that the man found the victim’s credit card and used it to shop at retail outlets and topped up stored-value cards. The total amount that was swiped on the credit cards was around S$1,600.

According to the Police, the stolen items included a bag, clothing and stored valued cards and 3 credit cards.
