MAN FINED AFTER CALLING POLICE OFFICER “A***OLE” AT THE CATHAY SHOPPING MALL

According to the Media release, Lew Wei Ming, a 37-year-old man was charged for abusing a Police officer at Cathay Shopping Mall.

The incident happened on the 16 of April, Lew was caught not wearing a mask in Public by a Police officer. The Police officer issued him a fine outside The Cathay.

He then insulted the Police officer by calling him an “a***hole”. This leads to his arrest and he is now charged under the Protection from Harassment Act (POHA) for hurling vulgarities at a public servant.

He will be trying on the 8 May 2020.

Another Similar Case

Eddie Neo Zhong Jie, a 35-year-old committed a similar crime. He was conducting non-essential business at Yuhua Village Coffeeshop that is located at Jurong East Street 24.

After he was caught, he started hurling vulgarities to a Singapore Food Agency officer.

He is also facing a similar charge for allegedly abusing the officer
