MEDICAL PERSONNEL WORKING AT EXPO CARE FACILITY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

According to a media release from the Ministry of Health Singapore, one of the medical personnel working in the Expo community care facility had been tested positive for COVID-19 on 02 May 2020.

As per MOH media release:

         Case 17881 is a 34-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 2 May 2020 and is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.

She is employed as a nurse by the Health Promotion Board and is deployed to the community care facility at Singapore EXPO, but had not gone to work since the onset of symptoms.

With the effect to fight against COVID-19 EXPO was converted into an isolation facility last month. This facility will help to reduce the pressure on the local hospitals allowing them to focus better on those patients in need.
