
According to the latest media release, 60-year-old Pay Kiaw Keng has landed in ‘hot waters’ after his continuous defiance against the law.
He was first caught for not wearing a mask at Hougang void deck. He was later escorted into a police vehicle and he started to verbally abuse an officer.
He was charged earlier today under COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 for not wearing a facemask at the void deck of Block 644 Hougang Avenue 8 on 2 May 2020 (Saturday). He was caught at around 9.05 AM.
He faces an additional charge for verbally abusing a Police office at 10.05 AM when the police vehicle was en route along Woodlands Avenue 12.
Spat at Police Officer
He allegedly spat at the police officer’s right arm while he was at Woodlands Police Division Lockup. This action caused him to land another charge for using criminal force on a public servant.
He has since been remanded at IMH for psychiatric assessment. He will be back in court on the 18 of May 2020.
For anyone that is found guilty of breaching the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures), Act 2020 will face up to six months and/or fined up to $10,000.
For verbally abusing a public servant, he is facing jail time of up to 12 months and/or fined $5,000.
