
A recent warning video was released by the Bedok South Neighbourhood Police Centre to warn the members of the public for the ongoing credit-for-sex scams and exposing the tactics used by the scammers to create public awareness.
In 2019 alone, an estimated $2.8 million was lost to these scammers.
In the video, the police explained that sexy photo of young ladies is commonly used to attract victims. Text messages from the scammers are featured in the video published.

Text Reading:
” I am currently a student working part-time providing sexual services. Cost as follows $100 for 2 hours and $300 overnight. I am free today. To you want to meet?”

Scammers will continue to start a conversation when they feel that you are their potential victim. As shown in the video, scammers will provide a place for a meetup and ask for the victim’s contact details.

As a way for her “Manager” to safeguard her personal safety. As the victim is not introduced by her regular customers.

The victims were told to transfer the money via AXS machines over the phone. The girl’s “Manager” will pressure the victims to transfer the money if they didn’t.
When the victim said no the scammer turned violent and threatens to harm the family of the victims. The scammer claims that they able to find victims home’s address.

These scams are still happening during the circuit breaker period. The police advise the members of the public not to give in to the scammers when such an incident happens.
