DRUNK MAN JAILED AFTER ABUSING POLICE IN COURT AND PUBLIC

A man resisted arrested after he was caught leaving in his home and went drinking.

Before he heads to court the received his sentencing he, he drank 2 beers and started behaving aggressively towards a Police officer.

56-year-old Christopher Amurutham was sentenced to 11 weeks of jail.

In the charge court, he pleaded guilty for the following

  • 1 count of Criminal force against a public servant
  • Two counts of using abusive words
  • 1 charge of Drinking and eating in public

The story

The incident happened on the 18 of April, He drank Chinese Wine early in the morning and he took a bus to Toa Payoh and later transferred to Bishan.

He sat at a public bench with a packet of rice and bottle of whisky at Blk 20, Lorong 7 Toa Payoh, he was spotted by a safe-distancing ambassador and he was told to go home.

He then turned aggressive against the ambassadors and started cursing and swearing. The Police were contacted for assistance.

When the police officers were putting him under arrest, he struggled and almost slap the officer’s face, he also forcefully pushed away another officer.

Guinness Stout Before Court

On the day he was supposed to get charged in court he drank 2 cans of Guinness Stout and started to behave aggressively again.

He walked towards a Police officer’s and started to curse and swear and pointed the middle finger at the officer twice.

This is not the first time he committed an offence

He committed theft in 1981 and disorderly behaviour in 1990
