A 46 year old Taiwanese woman, Sun Zhuyan, is facing two charges which consist of harassment and committing a reckless act which would endanger the lives of others.
She is suspected of enter ION shopping mall at Orchard Road without wearing a mask and deliberately sneezing at a female security guard. In addition, she even threw a globe, a plastic chair, a vacuum cleaner, a glass bottle and three pencils from the third floor of her Fifth Avenue Apartment.
She appeared in court yesterday and she argued with the judge for close to an hour. She even accused the judge of interrupting her speech. She initially pleaded and begged the judge to give her a chance before changing her statement, saying that she did not sneeze at the victim intentionally.
During hearing, the accused not only interrupted the judge and the interpreter, but also asked why the judge could interrupt her but she could not do the same. Thereafter, she also said in a mocking tone: “If you don’t want to listen to me explain, then I will not explain.”
The case is ongoing.
