PMD RIDERS CAUGHT SPEEDING ON THE ROAD DURING CB

A video is circulating on social media showing 3 PMD riders speeding on the road in the middle of the night. None of them was seen wearing a helmet while riding at such a high speed.

It is believed that the video was taken during the circuit breaker, these people had already breached the circuit breaker measures.

According to the law, no one is allowed to meet people outside their own household. Anyone caught for meeting a person outside their own household for social purposes will face a jail term up to 6 months and $10,000 fine or both.

According to the PMD guideline, a LTA approved PMD must meet the following requirements:

  • Maximum width of 70 cm
  • Maximum weight of 20 kg; and
  • Maximum speed of 25 km/h

Anyone caught using a Non-LTA approved PMD will face a fine of $5,000 or 3 months jail term. The maximum penalty will be doubled for repeated offenders along with confiscation
