A video that has been circulating online depicts 2 girls cycling on the expressway. The video was filmed on the 29th of May at around 12:30pm.
The two females were riding their bicycles on the expressway’s road shoulder. The worse thing was that they were cycling against traffic. The location where they were filmed was at BKE/SLE expressway towards Woodlands.
They looked completely oblivious and I believed that they thought that it was okay to even do what they did. They were endangering both themselves and drivers by riding on highways.
Those caught cycling on expressways may be charged under Section 279 of the Penal Code for driving in a rash manner which endangers human life or causes hurt or injury to any other person. Under Section 2 of the Road Traffic Act, a cyclist qualifies as a driver.
