According to a media release, a 40-year-old man was charged for sexually assualting a 32-year-old domestic worker in a HDB flat. The incident occurred on the 15 Jul 2017 at 3 pm in the afternoon at a HDB flat located in the east.
The accuse face a total of 8 charges including serious sexual assault, trespassing, molesting, and posing as a police officer.
On the day of the incident, the accuse posed as a police officer asking the victim for documents and cash. When the victim refused, he then went on to molest her and forced her to perform oral sex on him.
The accuse was asked to go for a psychiatrist evaluation. During the session, the accuse told the doctor that he was drinking at his friend’s place before the incident happened. He left his friend’s place after a quarrel and police were at his friend’s unit later on. He took the stairs down in order to avoid getting detected by the police.
The accuse said that he was sober after he left his friend’s place. He claimed that he met the victim while on his way down. The victim approached him on her own and spoke to him and said that she wanted to befriend with him, she then led him to her unit. After entering the unit, the door was left unlocked. The accuse said that if he was to commit a crime he would have locked the door.
