
According to a media release, a taxi was messed up by 2 men that were not wearing a mask after the driver refused to pick them up. The incident happened on the 03 Jun 2020 at 182B Rivervale Crescent.
The 2 men flagged down a taxi at the roadside, the driver noticed that one of them did not wear a mask and the taxi driver refused to pick them up. The taxi driver drove away, when the taxi uncle stopped at a pedestrian crossing, one of the man opened the rear door and got onto the taxi with his friend.
Both men smelled of alcohol when they enter the taxi. After they were rejected by the taxi uncle, one of them started to make a fuss and messed up the driver’s belongings at the front seat. He started verbally abusing the taxi driver and even challenged him to a fight.
The police were alerted about the incident and investigation is ongoing.
The taxi driver did not do anything wrong after refusing to pick up the 2 men. He did it because he wanted to protect himself and his family. However, the behaviour of the 2 men drinking together raises concern.
According to the law, no visiting or gathering is allowed during phase one of the re-opening.
