
A Singapore Permanent resident couple were found guilty after abusing their maid.
The victim is a domestic worker from India and she was hired by Mohammad Tasleem & Farha Tehseen.
In court they describe the gruesome abuse the maid had to face, In a period of two months, the maid was punched slapped and beaten up with various household items, they even attack and burned her with a pair of heated tongs.
Most of the attacks were done by the Farha Tehseen, she is facing 10 counts of causing voluntarily hurt to the maid.

Attacked on the first day of work
The maid left her country and hopes to find a decent wage in Singapore but end up getting slapped and punch on her first day of work.
She was punched in the eye, and kicked at the waist, While the victim was making chapati over the flame, Farha Tehseen was unhappy with the way she cooked and burned her with the heated tongs causing a scar.
Climb out of the window to escape torture
After she was abused for two months she decided to escape.
On the day of the escape, she was told to put a tray of food on the floor, just when she was doing so, Farha kicked her on her back and caused her to fall on the ground.
Farha then picked her up by pulling her hair and punching her face.
Later that day, the couple went out of the house and locked the maid in the apartment, the victim had no choice but climb out from the 4th floor of the building.

She shouted for help and was lucky that Mani Manoharan another foreign worker that was painting the building heard her cries for help and rescued her down via a gondola.
The victim is now housed and in the care of a Good Shepherd Centre
Offences
The couple deny all charges and claims that the maid is the one that did not perform for her job and even insulted her saying that she was dirty and smelly like a cow dung.
For voluntarily causing hurt, Farha they can be jailed for up to two years for each count.
She is facing 10 counts, therefore up to 20 years along with a fine.
The case will continue on August 21.
