MAN CHARGED FOR “JIOING” PMD RIDERS TO SLASH PASSERSBY @ PUNGGOL PARK

According to a media release, a man was charged after he allegedly tried to gather personal mobility device (PMD) riders to cause harm to others at Punggol Park via Telegram.

The accuse was charged with making an electronic record containing an incitement to commit acts of violence.

The man sent 2 separate messages on 2 different telegram group chat known as “FP North Hub Shift Swaps” and “Foodpanda North Classic Fleet”.

On the “FP North Hub Shift Swaps”, he proposed to other group members to have a “PMD Riot” at Punggol Park. On “Foodpanda North Classic Fleet” he asked group members to bring parang along and slash anyone they see.

The police were alerted on 30 Dec 2019, the police arrested the accuse the following day after identifying his identity.

The accuse is currently out on bail for $15,000. He is also banned from accessing social media. He is only allowed to access his company’s social media groups for work purposes

His case has been adjourned to 13 Jul 2020. If convicted he could face a jail term up to 5 years and fined.
