E-BIKE TRAVELLING ON EXPRESSWAY,FASTER THAN MOTORBIKE

A video of an E-bike travelling on the expressway is circuiting on social media. From the video, the rider was seen shifting from the left to right overtaking motorcyclist. The video was taken on 19 Jun 2020 at 11 pm on the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE).

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA):

“Starting from 1 April 2020, higher-powered electric motorcycles with power ratings exceeding 10 kilowatts (kW) can be registered with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for use on public roads. In addition, electric motorcycles with a top speed of 50 km/h and above will be allowed on expressways starting from 1 April 2020.”
