The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) conducted a series of operations between June 22nd and 23rd that saw a whopping $215,000 worth of drugs seized and resulted in 8 male suspects arrested.
A suspect group of drug offenders were spotted congregating near Wellington Circle at Sembawang.
Two of the suspects, a 49 year old and 55 year old men arrived in a van, followed by a white coloured car. A package was delivered from the van to the car before both groups took off.
Unbeknownst to them, they were being tailed by separate parties of CNB officers, with the van being intercepted along Simei Avenue resulting in the arrest of both suspects.
CNB officers discovered 92g of Heroin in the van. A Further raid on the van driver’s residence saw the uncovering of another 57g of heroin, 53g of Methamphetamine (more commonly known as Crystal Meth or Ice) as well as cash amounting to $20,155.
Meanwhile, at Bukit Batok, our unwitting local Breaking Bad characters in their white car were still being followed by the CNB officers, with the 49 year old suspect alighting to meet up with yet another suspect, a 50 year old. The 49 year old man was subsequently arrested and officers found $1,500 on him.
This is getting more confusing than Steven Lim’s Facebook selfies but stay with me.
While still in Bukit Batok, the 46 year old suspect in the white coloured car alighted then boarded a grey car, with a 43 year old suspect behind the wheel.
Back to the white coloured car, after it had reached the carpark near Woodlands Street 31, the 39 year old driver was arrested shortly after leaving his car and officers found 4g of Ice on him.
Meanwhile, another group of CNB officers were tailing the grey car I mentioned earlier, to Boon Lay Drive, where both car occupants alighted and proceeded to a HDB unit on the fifth floor.
CNB officers then forced entry into the unit after the occupants refused to heed the lawful orders of the officers for granted access into the unit.
Both 43 year old and 46 year old suspects were arrested and 51g of ice were found in the unit.
Oh but the tale doesn’t end here.
The following morning on June 23rd, the 50 year old suspect whom we’ve mentioned above (the one who met up with the 49 year old suspect at Bukit Batok, remember?), was arrested at a void deck in Ang Mo Kio.
1.91kg of Heroin and $6,460 were found on him.
CNB officers also raided the HDB unit the 50 year old was in and arrested a 53 year old suspected drug abuser.
Police investigations are still ongoing at the time of writing.
According to CNB, The 2.92kg of heroin seized is sufficient to feed the addiction of almost 1400 abusers for a week.
The 108g of Ice is sufficient to feed the addiction of about 60 abusers for a week.
