Facebook user Somash Jeyaram posted on Facebook, claiming that he was looking for a job because of the Covid-19 pandemic and came across a post offering him one. So he PMed the person and she asked him to send a text to her “admin manager”.

The role he was offered was that of a sales representative, or so he thought.

His jobscope was mainly to post items online (mostly mobile phones) and direct interested parties to her (the admin manager), and that his salary would be $450 per week.

He didn’t suspect anything until he received the third item to post, which was a brand new iPhone 8+ for $340, which was too cheap to be true.

So he did some research on “Onephone” (the company the “admin manager” claimed to be from) and saw that the prices being quoted were different from the actual retail price by a huge margin.

The same thing happened with the 4th item she sent him to post, so he went to Onephone to find out more and they told him that was a fake person impersonating their staff and to make a police report.

Somash then subsequently found out that someone fell victim to their scam…
