
According to a media release, a 35-year-old, former employee of the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) has been charged in court for multiple alleged sexual offences, including molestation and videoing vulnerable patients while they are in the shower.
The man faces a total of 42 charges which include insulting a women’s modesty and Scopophilia.
According to the court document, the man allegedly committed a sexual offence against at least 12 women between 30 Aug 2019 to 02 Mar 2020. His victims include patients of IMH and his female co-worker.
The man was dismissed from his job and IMH is assisting the police in their investigations.
Aside from being accused of videoing patient showering and female staff changing clothes, the man has also accused of taking an upskirt video of an unknown woman at a MRT station.
On 06 Sep 2019 , the man has molested a 25-year-old patient in an activity room within IMH. On 21 Nov 2019, the man committed the same act on a 29-year-old patient but this time it was in the ward. The man removed a blanket covering the bottom half of the patient and exposed her private parts.
on 03 and 22 Feb 2020, the man has committed Scopophilia offences by videoing 2 patients while they were showering.
The man is currently out on bail for $25,000 and is set to return to court on 27 Jul 2020.
If convicted of insulting a woman’s modesty the man could face a jail term up to 1 year, fined or both. He could also face a jail term up to 4 years for videoing the vulnerable patients.
