
According to a media release by the Ministry of Health(MOH), the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) was notified that a confirmed Covid-19 patient has visited Al-Ansar Mosque(Bedok North) multiple times.
In the media release, MUIS said that the individual had visited the mosque for evening prayings 8 times. The individual visited the mosque from June 27 to July 2.
The mosque was closed for from July 7 and July 8 for disinfection. Prayer services have since resumed, Friday prayers will not be affected.
In a media release by MUIS:
“MOH has confirmed that other worshippers are at low risk of being infected. Nevertheless, Muis advises members of the public who have been to Masjid Al-Ansar at these specified times to monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit. ” said MUIS
” Muis would like to remind the community to remain vigilant, follow all safe management procedures stipulated by our mosques, and stay home if unwell. In particular, vulnerable groups, i.e. the elderly, children, and those with chronic respiratory conditions are strongly encouraged not to come to the mosque and to perform their prayers at home instead. With everyone’s cooperation, we can keep COVID-19 at bay and progressively resume more activities at the mosques in time to come. “
