The Singapore Food Agency is taking action against a Mookata stall at Goldenmile Complex after a customer complained about cockroaches crawling over the drink dispenser machine.
The customer who visited Y Cube Mookata Buffet noticed the drink dispenser was infested with small and large cockroaches. The customer then proceeded to inform the manager which he replied that the machine was not operated for a long time. The customer then replied if he expected her to kill the cockroaches for him. The manager then asked another staff member to help. The staff proceeded to use a tissue to kill a cockroach without even disinfecting the area.
But there were still many cockroaches crawling out of the machine and the customer called the manager again but the manager just moves the table an inch away from the dispenser. The manager did not even attempt to change the customer’s seats or remove the entire machine.
SFA carried out an inspection after receiving feedback and they will proceed to take enforcement action against the operator for the hygiene lapses detected.
