A 38 year old man was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison, along with six strokes of the cane for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house, tying up her young daughters and maid, and confronting her former partner about another man and a debt that she allegedly owed.

Wanting to intimidate his “old flame”, he tied her up with masking tape, rope and some cable ties which resulted in bruises and cuts pn her legs and arms, as well as an abrasion on her wrist.

He also placed gas cylinders around the house threatening to blow up the unit if they did anything “stupid”.

Fearing the worst for her daughter, the victim “had sexual intercourse” with the man to distract him.

The man cannot be named due to gag orders protecting the identities of the victims.
