A Facebook post by Workers’ Party (WP) chief Pritam Singh’s former teacher has shed some light on how far Pritam has come since his pre-pubescent years.
Shared by St Thomas Secondary School, Pritam’s alma mater; his former teacher Lorene Nalpon wrote about Pritam’s unassuming ways, saying he was a “quiet and shy boy” in her Secondary One Normal (5) classes back then.
She added that: “Who would have thought that one of my quiet shy boys would turn out to be a wonderfully eloquent and enigmatic leader of the opposition of Singapore’s political arena.
Pritam Singh succeeded veteran politician Low Thia Kiang following the latter’s stepping down as secretary-general of WP in April 2018.
Lorene added that: ” “I think being in the non-elistist school prepares an individual to understand and appreciate all that we have in Singapore and how to truly move society forward.”
The school merged with Bukit Merah Secondary School in 2001.
