The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post that they were alerted to a fire at Blk 167C Punggol East at around 12.25pm on Tuesday (July 21).

About a hundred people were evacuated.
They wrote: “Upon SCDF’s arrival, a unit on the eighth floor of the block was engulfed in flames, SCDF firefighters wearing breathing apparatus sets conducted forced entry into the unit.”
They added that the fire was put out with a water jet.
At the time of writing, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
