PRC WHO IS SG PR SENTENCED TO 8 MONTHS JAIL FOR TAKING $92,000 IN BRIBES

Zhou Weiqiang, 55, a Chinese national was sentenced to eight months jail after receiving $92,000 worth of bribes during his time as a assistant spare parts manager for Tiong Woon Enterprise.

He received kickbacks during the purchase of spare parts for cranes. He managed to influence the procurement process as he was in charge of evaluating quotes before recommending them to this superiors for approval.

Those found guilty of a corruption offence can be fined up to $100,000, jailed for up to five years, or both.
