According to the Minister of Health officials, COVID-19 vaccine is most likely made widely available by the of the next year 2021.
Vaccine studies have already begun, due to the high demand, the vaccine may be produced in sufficient dose by the end of 2021. Singapore has expressed interest in working with pharmaceutical companies to obtain access to any vaccine candidates with high potential.
Once proven efficient and safe, Singapore plans to bring in enough doses to benefit the people of Singapore. Singapore is not only depending on just one vaccine candidate but wishes to diversify its option on COVID-19 vaccines.
Singapore has also expressed its interest in the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) Covid-19 Vaccine Global Access (Covax) Facility. It is said to be a method to ensure Singapore to have fast, fair and equitable access to Covid-19 vaccines.
