
A fire has broke out at the Kent Ridge Wing building within the National University Hospital (NUH) compound last Friday (24 Jul).
A total of 130 people were evacuated from the building. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was spotted at the scene after they were alerted about the fire at about 4.40 PM.
According to the SCDF, the fire broke out at the basement staircase landing and 130 people were evacuated before the SCDF arrives. No injuries were reported from the fire and investigations are ongoing.
NUH has posted a post on their Facebook to apologise to the members of the public for any inconvenience caused. A special arrangement was made for affected patients whose consultation was disrupted by the fire.
Home delivery will be arranged for patients who did not manage to fill their prescriptions.

From preliminary findings, the fire occurred in the basement staircase landing at the Kent Ridge Wing building. We are working with the SCDF on the investigations.No one was hurt in this incident and all affected inpatients were moved back to their wards as soon as the SCDF had ascertained that the building was safe for re-entry.
Visitation of inpatients will resume tomorrow (25 July). Our clinics will be contacting patients whose consultation was disrupted.
Likewise, our pharmacy will arrange for home delivery for patients who did not manage to fill their prescriptions.
Please note that the basement carpark at Kent Ridge Wing (KRW) will be closed until Monday. Alternative parking is available at KRW Level 1, NUH Medical Centre, as well as National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore.
