Facebook user Nadhirah Natasha shared a heartbreaking story of an old woman that she met around her area who would collect tin cans everyday just to earn a measly amount of $5.
That morning, Nadhirah spotted her walking around frantically around the void deck – turns out her trolley full of tin cans were taken away. The old woman broke down in tears because that was her only source of income.
Nadhirah also wrote that the old woman lived with her stepbrother, who would always bully her and take her money that she made from selling the tin cans. The bullying and scolding got so bad that she resorted to sleeping under the void deck after collecting her tin cans.
She would also go scavenging through the rubbish bins for leftover food when she’s hungry.
