This incident happened in the wake of another migrant worker who tried to jump off a window ledge at The Leo on July 31 and was arrested as well under the same act.

It is understood from ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR), a local non-profit organisation, that migrant workers are currently facing anxiety in their dormitories over the uncertainty of when they can leave their accomodation, claustrophibia, drawing their salary, job uncertainty and not knowing when they can see their families back home, among others.

It has been several months now since their dormitories have been placed in lockdown to test the workers contain the spread of Covid-19.
