PRISON INMATE AMONG 226 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN SINGAPORE

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that there were 226 new confirmed Covid-19 cases as of today (August 3).

The vast majority of cases are made up of migrant workers who are living in dormitories.

The cases include a community case and a prison inmate on a short-term visit pass who arrived in Singapore prior to border measures implementation.

The inmate was segregated from the other inmates since being admitted to Changi Prison Complex on July 30.

Additionally, there were nine imported cases being placed on stay-home notice after their arrival here.

This brings Singapore’s total cases of Covid-19 to 53,051.
