During the COVID-19 pandemic, people are advised to minimise physical contact as much as possible.
Recently, a Singapore company has installed a holographic lift buttons module for an office building located in Kallang. This is to minimise the contact between surfaces and people in the public.
People taking the lift just have to move their finger between 1 cm to 1.5cm over the holographic lift buttons that they want to press and the physical button lights will also light up at the same time.
According to First Step Elevator who installed the unit, each of these individual units cost between $6,000 to $9,000 depending on the number of buttons required.
To comply with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) regulations, the physical buttons will still be made available for usage as well.
