According to a Facebook post posted by Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Shelter, a dog owner has killed his pet dog in front of their gate while trying to abandon the dog.
According to the post, after the owner pushed the dog out of his car it ran after his car. In an attempt to flee the scene, the owner hit the dog with his car and sped off leaving the dog behind to die
In the post:
“DOG MURDERED BY ITS OWNERS
Eyewitnesses informed us that a white MYVI car with 2 persons drove up to our sanctuary gates and pushed a dog out from the car. In the haste of leaving the “crime scene” as there were eyewitnesses watching, the driver stepped on the accelerator. The dog tried desperately to run after the owner’s car and was hit by the car. The car didn’t stop and sped off.
The eyewitnesses ran to our gates to alert us. Uncle Raymund dashed out to check on the dog which laid in the middle of the road.
Sadly, the dog had died on the spot, from internal haemorrhaging. Uncle Raymund moved the dog to the side of the road to prevent vehicles from running over her.
We can only imagine that in the dog’s mind, her last few minutes of life were filled with the joy of going for a car ride with people she trusted only to be betrayed at the last second.
This dog didn’t deserve to die like this. She deserved the last act of human decency and compassion. We buried her and planted a sapling on her grave.
We are aware of the irresponsible dumping of unwanted pets in the vicinity of the Sanctuary. Injured or sick pets that are wary of strangers will eventually succumb to their injuries or illness and die a slow and agonising death
Are you expecting a garbage collector to recycle your unwanted pets?
Do not abandon your pets. Pets do not have the survival instinct. Re-home them, neuter spay them but don’t leave them. As higher-functioning humans, we have the responsibility to do what is right.“
