Foo Li Ping, 24, and Wong Shi Xiang, 33, appeared in court yesterday (August 13) via video link after a one-week remand whilst cooperating with investigations, are facing a murder charge for allegedly killing four-year-old Megan Khung Yu Wai in unit at Suites @ Guillemard condominium in Paya Lebar.
The offence was alleged committed earlier this year in February.
Foo is the biological mother of the victim.
Another woman, Nouvelle Chua Roushi, 30, is also accused of burning the victim’s body in a metal barrel.
Foo and Wong have since been remanded another 3 weeks to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
The prosecution initially asked for the couple to be remanded at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) but the district judge said that Food will instead be remanded at Institutaion A4 while Wong will be remanded at Changi Prison’s Complex Medical Centre.
They are both due to return to court on September 3.
The three accused; Foo, Wong and Chua remained silent throughout the entire hearing.
