A 3 year old boy jumped to his death from the seventh floor after climbing out of the window onto the air-conditioning compressor.
It was believed that the father is currently in prison and the daughter-in-law has moved out to live. The boy was then in the care of his grandmother. She went out to buy coffee in the morning and when she returned in less than two hours she found her grandson had fallen to his death from her seventh floor unit.
Coroner’s inquiry stated that the cause for the boys death was due to him being afraid of the dark. When he woke up, he found himself alone. He was afraid to find himself all alone which then proceeded to climb out of the window. After getting on the air-conditioning compressor, he eventually stumbled and fell, therefore ruling it as an unfortunate accident.
The incident happened at Block 332 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 at around 6:39am.
