
The 49-year-old man who reported verbally abusing a bus captain after he was asked to put on his mask properly was arrested by the police. He will be charged in court today (22 Aug) for public nuisance.

Police investigations revealed that he was allegedly involved in a separate case where he spat at another bus captain in a similar situation. The man was arrested on the 20 Aug 2020 after the police identified the identity of the man.
According to the law, for causing a nuisance, the man could face a fine of up to S$2,000. If the act will cause, or probably cause injury, danger or annoyance to the public he could face a jail term up to 3 months, fined $2,000 or both.
