A Facebook post was recently shared which stated how a local girl wants to dump her current boyfriend as he got angry when she used his credit card to purchase a $2,000 bag for her sister.

I’m very close with my sister so I would often buy her food and gifts. She likes luxury goods so I bought her a branded bag for her birthday awhile ago. I paid for the bag with my supplementary card that was given by my bf. My bf and I have been working for only a year but he earns slightly more. He said I can use the card freely so I didn’t hesitate when buying the bag.
Today, he asked me how come my latest credit bill is so high. But the bill is actually only $2k. He got pissed off when I told him that I bought a bag for my sister and it costed $2k. He called me crazy for spending so much money on my sister. I told him that she likes this bag alot but she can’t afford to buy it so I’m just helping her to buy it. She doesn’t earn much so I feel like I should help her out. He said I shouldn’t feel obligated to help her because she has a job and a luxury bag is not a necessity.
I argued that since he gives his parents $1k every month so why can’t I spend $2k on my sister. He argued that his parents raised him so he feels obligated to repay them. He said he would be ok if I spent the $2k on my parents instead of my sister because I owe it to my parents. I then argued that I didn’t ask my parents to give birth to me so why should I repay them. I feel like I didn’t ask to be born into this world so it’s their duty to raise me. I don’t owe them anything.
I just don’t understand him. Why is it that he is ok with me spending money on my parents but not my sister? My sister is also my family. She’s my biological sister so it’s perfectly normal to buy her a small gift? But why is he overreacting? Is he an *ssh*le for not letting me spend some money on my sister? Should I dump him?
