The contractors; Loo Jiale, 32, and Peter Ngin, 52, were given keys with access to the shop unit.

On Friday (August 28), all 10 of them were sentenced and fined, with the guests fined $4,000 each.

The prosecutor said that Loo was the “mmost culpable” as he was the one who invited at least 3 of the friends over, opening the unit for the gathering.

Loo also took part in similiar gathering in April.

Ngin was also punished with a steeper fine as well because he made the decision with Loo to order alcohol and didn’t do anything to prevent the gathering from happening.

The guests spent about 3-6 hours at the unit while Loo spent about 10 hours there.

The prosecutor also added that had the police not intervened, their gathering would’ve gone on for longer.

For flouting Covid-19 regulations, each of them could have faced a steeper fine of $10,000, 6 months in jail, or both.
