A man with a bowel sydrome recently took to Facebook on the issues that he faced in his social life as he has to live with such an issue which required him to wear adult diapers.
Here is the full story.
I have irritable bowel syndrome since young. It gets especially bad when I get stressed out. The abdominal pain can get so bad that I can barely walk. Thats not even the worst part. During this period I cannot control my bowel, and have to wear adult diapers. Whenever i get more stressed than usual, it acts up and lasts for 1 to 2 weeks, even if the stress is only for 1 or 2 days, usually cos of work. So I will be on adult diapers for that period. Its super embarrassing. I have to wear loose pants else it will be quite visible.
I remember many years back, I was out with my ex gf and it just acted up. I wasn’t wearing diapers and simply soiled my pants halfway to the toilet. The smell must have been heavenly for her.
I’m quite sure I got this condition from my mum. Back when adult diapers were too expensive, she was using newspaper as some kind of padding. Imagine! I have been through the battery of tests, stool test, endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsy. IBS becomes the default diagnosis by exclusion. There’s no cure and I have come to accept it as lifelong. How I wish someone can come up with a cure or an effective way to manage it someday!
