MP HANY SOH FIGHTS FOR 15 MINS PARKING GRACE & DESIGNATED PARKING SPACE FOR DELIVERY RIDERS

This comes after she has spoken to some of the delivery riders residing in her area. She understands that delivery riders often have to work long hours to make their ends meet. At the same time, they will sometimes be summoned by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) due to the lack of parking spot while trying to rush to complete their orders.

Delivery riders are often at risk of incurring a $70 fine from the LTA and even $300 for unclamping fees that were imposed by the management of shopping mall. These also shows that there is a lack of proper facilities for delivery riders.

Hany Soh proposed to implement a longer grace period at car parks and to set up designated food delivery pick up points at all commercial building.

This will help to reduce the chances of delivery riders have to park illegally to do their job which she mentioned is a “win-win situation” for all.
