
A 49-year-old Singaporean woman signed up for a premium package for 3 dates from matchmaking service Lunch Actually, setting her back $2,939 and she claimed that she was told she could specify the appearance that she wanted.
She gave the agency some photos for reference and was eventually matched with a 59-year-old man.
SHe was then convinced to go for the date bcause they claimed that he looks younger than his age, has a decent figure and lives in a central area.
She acceded and they were arranged to meet at a restaurant for their first date.
Upon meeting her date, she said she he was “clearly a 59-year-old uncle” once his mask was taken off.
She said that he “looked old”, wasn’t good looking and was “skinny”.
She also found out that he doesn’t live in the city but in a HDB flat in Bukit Batok.
She reportedly thinks of herself as a catch, with a decent monthly incomes and she thinks she is attractive.
Speaking to Mothership, she said that this “unpleasant episode” has deterred her from looking for another life partner totally.
She actually requested a refund after the first date but was rejected, with a spokesman from Lunch Actually clarifying that customers are not guaranteed matches who look a particular way.
